David opens
climbing center!
On Sunday, after the dominant victory at the Austrian State Championships in Lead Climbing in Graz, it was on to the rocks of the famous Riegersburg. The goal was to conquer the walls that had made this fortress into a stronghold of Christianity.
David was invited as a star guest for the opening ceremony of the new climbing center, and to make the first ascent of the most spectacular route. More than 500 enthusiastic spectators watched David being the first to climb the route. The eyes of the audience were glued to David as he climbed the overhang 10 more times for the photographer and the helicopter filming the event.
Although the route’s difficulty level was rather low, it was still an exceptional experience for David due to the amazing location directly by the majestic Riegersburg fortress.
