Hohe Watzespitze, 3532m
Three weeks before the World Championships, I managed to climb the 3532m high Watzespitze summit in the Ötztal Alps. Ever since I first saw this rock pyramid three years ago, I been wanting to conquer it. Today, after three hours hike and another four hours of climbing in mixed terrain, finally my partner Daniel Steuerer and I stood on the summit. By the way, we didn’t take the normal route up, but went over the long firn field on the right face and finally over the spine to the summit.
